Om Charity – June Update

posted in: News and Updates | 0

Greetings Friends and Supporters

Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring or summer, depending on the wonderful mother nature 🙂

I’d like to provide some update on the Om Charity’s recent fund raising drive, Patient’s case reviews and updates on working with the local medical and social services facilities in India.

During His Holiness’s visit in Madison, Wisconsin last month, I had organized a small musical concert to raise some funds for the social work. Even though it did not go as I had planned, I am happy with everyone’s effort, contribution, and the funds raised from that event. I’d like to Thank everyone for coming and most importantly for the Madison Tibetan Associations for helping me with the event. I was able to send a check for $350 dollars for the Wisconsin Tibetan Association for their share as well. Its a win win for everyone 🙂

Over the past few weeks, I have been working with the Sera Mey Medical and Social Service Office in South India. They have graciously accepted to assist OM CHARITY with medical fund collection, distribution of monthly medical support, and collection of monthly receipts from each patients we are supporting. This is a HUGE help for me, as it is extremely difficult to do all these things by 1 person from here in the U.S. We need all the help we can get from the local governmental and non governmental offices, in assisting our own patients directly or indirectly. and basically doing anything they can to assist, in anyway. As we have heard many times growing up in India, you don’t make a sound by clapping with 1 hand. We need two hands to make a sound. Hence, support from our generous supporters and assist from our local offices is an epitome of coming together on this “Tibetans helping Tibetans” initiative.

We are still getting non stop phone calls and text messages from families and patients seeking medical support. Quite honestly, its disheartening to say no to all of them. But I am exploring other options, by possibly doing partial monthly support to all, so as to reach the maximum number of patients with the funds I’ve raised from my music and from your generous donations.

Thank You again for all your support and please ask your friends to check out my social work website and be a part of it, by contributing whatever amount they can. We can not get to a 100 contributors, if the 1st one doesn’t contribute a small amount. (Be it a 1 dollar) So lets start with you, and then 100 more of you will join in, so we can help many Sick and Poor Tibetans worldwide.

RESPECT and LOVE one another.

Have a wonderful summer…
