I’d like to provide a quick update on some of the recent fundraisers for my social work (Om Charity) and the trungkar concerts.
On July 4th 2013, we had a very successful concert here in Minnesota, organized by the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota. I am thankful for the organizer and the supporters for making it a huge success. Together, we were able to gather, meet, celebrate, sing Tibetan songs, Speak Tibetan, and raise some funds for wonderful social causes.
Our donations from the Minnesota trungkhar concert will be donated to a Tibetan patient in Dheradhun and will provide the receipts online as soon as it’s available. I hope to find sometime this week to get this task completed. Thanks again for each and every one of you for your generous support and contribution towards my social work.
On July 6th 2013, I was up in Calgary to celebrate the Trunkhar with the Calgary Tibetan Community. Again, a very successful concert. I’d like to thank all the supporters and fans up there for coming out and supporting. I’d also like to thank the organizer Tenzin Chakdhor La (DJ Chaks), My Cousin brother (Namgyal Damdul) and his family up there for their warm hospitality, Amchi Kunga La for being the “super” MC of the night, Amchok Gonpo Dhondup and his family for spending whole day with me on a music video work, and everyone else for making the concert possible and a grand success. Quite honestly, I didn’t expect too much from this event, because of the small size of the Tibetan community up there. But I am very happy with the outcome and glad I took 4 days off to travel up there for this fund raiser and a community bonding/ gathering as well.
It is very apparent and so true that, the projects we undertake with clear and sincere motives always come out with great success and satisfaction. I pray and hope that I’ll continue to have such an opportunity to be there for the Poor and the Sick Tibetans in years and years to come. Please continue to support these initiatives to help one another.
Here are the next few events to participate in:
- July 20th 2013: To perform at the Minnesota Tibetan Parents Association’s fund raising for the Tibetan Sunday School. I hope many local Tibetans will turn out to support our Sunday school program.
- On July 26th 2013, it’s the evening to offer music for HH Sakya Trizin. I am looking forward to it. It’ll be a blessed evening.
- On Aug 3rd 2013, I’ll be in Chicago to attend a 1st birthday of a friend’s son.
- Sometime in September: I hope to be in Chicago again for an Om Charity’s Benefit concert, along with other artists.
